In the late 1940s early 1950s as kids in the Quay the pit yard was our main play ground,at the back was Leslie's ship yard with a 8 feet tall wall bottom of the wall where there was a small holdings that had hens chickens and goats one a Billy goat we used to try and ride on its back the man who had it was a local guy called Tweddle,old Tweddely as we nicknamed him was not liked buy us kids we used to give him the runaround not sure if he lived in Dunston st?
