Re: Hinckley Point B Nuclear Power Station.
Michael my husband worked on Hinckley B. We rented a cottage in Combwich. A tiny village with the only electric light was on wooden pole further up the road. No through road you went in and out of the village the same way. One dark rainy morning in mid November, I was looking out of the window wondering why I had agreed to leave Hebburn. I was feeling homesick, when suddenly a small van passed with A Reyrolle , Hebburn on Tyne passed. I couldn’t believe it. It cheered me up. I soon met other wives from the site and made friends with locals. In the end I was sad when we had to move on, but still keep in touch with some lovely friends. Happy memories. We moved on to Dungeness, an awful depressing place. Thank goodness it was only three years then Oxfordshire for the last 46 years. I now call it home.
