My Aunt Suzy’s husbands family were boatbuilders in S. Shields and were involved in building those lifeboats. He was given as a middle name Bedford which was the name of one of the lifeboats. My Grandmother Campbell the sister of Suzy, gave the same name to her second son I gather but he only lived a few months. I seem to remember that the Bedford may be on display in Eyemouth. Aunt Suzy’s always sweetly time as usually given the big jars of Sweets removed from the lifeboats of ships that were in Redheads for repair etc. Allan C.
