Hi Llyn, Most of us looking at that photo can see parts in the distance were drawn in.Just look at those windows  
Over the years Ive seen a few few old postcards where they draw over a section that for some reason didnt show very well. They dont add in, just draw over what didnt show up.
Here is a different photo and that also shows there is a very gentle slope up to the Lawe Rd junction.
