Colliery Lads Post reminded me the Dad played for Southport at one time.

I have a photo of him at a reunion there late 70’s early 80’s.

Looks like I’m going to have to dig through his newspaper cuttings and try to piece together him footballing career.

He gave up because of knee problems I think which runs in the family due to football Bad Tackles probably Grandfather Father and son.

I did not like football but did play. I disliked the roughness that some of the lads had, not skill just to take you out.

Running was my sport.
