Yes in 1890 Matthew Young ran Redhouse Farm. In 1910 Benjamin Towell ran it. In the days before Water Boards started piping fresh water to our homes, people in Hebburn drew their springwater fron a well called the 'Clegg Well' hence the name of the school built close to it in the 1920s.
