Of particular interest to me is the report second from bottom which records the death of Thomas Sharp.
A couple of years ago when with the Morpeth Ramblers, we came upon an obscure and remote pair of farm houses in Northumberland at a place called Paxton Dene. The leader of our group drew our attention to his notes which claimed one of the tenants of these dwellings had died in the Great Fire of Gateshead & Newcastle in 1854. How unlucky was Thomas to be so far from home on that night. The two houses are still occupied.
