I am wondering if my experience is happening across the country? I live in Herefordshire, following a course of treatment I was told that I needed to book what was called a ‘routine appointment’ with a doctor, I jus5 called the Surgery and was told that the next routine appointments start 2 weeks tomorrow, so I have been asked to call the Surgery tomorrow to make an appointment for these so called routine appointments’ on 31st October!!

My question is, is this now normal surgery practice or is this just my GP’s practice operating this system? I find it annoying that you ring the Surgery, hang in the phone for ages in order to get to speak to a Receptionist, then be told about this silly system, I can’t understand how a computerised system can’t cope with making an appointment a few weeks in advance?
