Brian a tale I could repeat with Hebburn families years ago, including my own. My older brother married in St Paul’s church Jarrow. My father would not go to the wedding, but my Mother was determined to see her son married. I was eleven at the time, so didn’t really know much about it. Later I admired my Mum for going to the wedding, as usually my father’s word was law.
