Norman, I do know many years ago, the people in Hebburn were offered the chance to buy their leasehold from the Ellison family at a very small fee.

Sadly lots of new house builders are now selling their houses leasehold, then selling the lease to a management company who are increasing the charges. Some people were saying they can’t re sell their homes as the lease is so expensive.
