That beach was called Herd Sand on a 1913 map and it was big, Nearly as wide as it was long at low tide if the map maker is correct.
I cannot read the name of the South Beach printing too small and map does not cover very much of it.
I remember a lot of sand and then very little I assume because of weather, winter storms.
