The theatre and cinema were adjoining buildings, I thought it was reasonable to assume the Empire could have had a dome, the buildings were of a decent height and the angle of the photo would have meant it would have been hard to see much past Grainger Street but you would have see up Newgate Street because of the Bigg Market/Grainger Street/Newgate Street crossroad.
