One of my hobbies is collecting cabinet photos dating from the late 1800's through till the 1920's or 1930's that were taken by photographers from South Tyneside. I have no idea who the people being photographed are, unless there's a name on the back which very rarely there is, but i've always admired the art of the photographers of yesteryear when you realise the equipment in their day to what we have today. I've added a photo just to gauge the response. This photographer was R.H. Carling, King Street, South Shields.
