Sorry Liz. I never lived in Bill Quay other than for about 8 months in 1965 when parents moved there and I moved back to Hebburn in 1965 after getting married.

We moved to Knaresborough in 1969 and visited my parents in Bill Quay as often as possible until they died in 1984.

I was in the Cricketers a few times but that’s about it.

I rarely visited pubs or clubs anyway, no time or inclination.

I know about the two pubs on the riverside near the coaling Staiths and possibly walked past then as a youngster but that’s it.
