There are other variations in the spelling of the Waggitt Name which was my Grandmother’s version.
I have no idea how many members there were, males to take the name forward. Let’s say 6 sons all having 6 sons over say 3. Generations, the numbers get huge. If you tried to go further back Wow.
No doubt this happened a lot we just never knew it.
Could be because of the coal mines concentrating people in the NE, who knows.
Earlier this afternoon I found that there was 117 family trees which had my GGG G/F as the name that I entered in the search.
I looked at about 6 and all different, some his descendants , others that were brothers or uncles.
My head could not take it in.
