Allan, the Baltic was started around 1937-ish. What people refer to as a mill, was not a mill but a storage building for flour with 152 concrete silos in it. One of my last jobs was engineering the controlled demolition so they could convert it into an arts centre. Two men were killed during the building of it carrying planks when they were blown off the top 96ft up. The original mill was gutted by fire some years earlier.
