LOL Geordieboy! When I lived up in Labrador, we used to do a sweepstake each year: what date would the first snow fall...
1990..I chose 17th October, and WON the sweep!
Can't remember how much I won, maybe C$80, but it's the winning that counts!
And as you know, once the snow starts, it doesn't often stop...until maybe Feb/March
BTW..No snow on the Scottish west coast.....as yet!
