That photo. It’s beyond comprehension for that amount of stuff to be there. Manure would I think would have washed away by rain or much reduced. Sorry I think that it’s a bit false just too much. Even Back then NY covered a vast area. It look more like materials Mud from a construction project. Not disagreeing with the written info but the photo? Is it rubble etc from the construction project on 7th Avenue which was behind where the photo was taken. Morton St. is still there but 2 shorter bits as in two half’s cut by 7th Ave. Allan C.
