I agree, John.

Under a FOI request, a patient has been in hospital for SEVEN years, ready to be released, but for the lack of a care package!!

And there are more...

And THAT's why the NHS is in a mess; Bed Blockers, and It's been known about for years.

If you don't discharge patients, there's no room for new patients... SIMPLES!

We treat them in corridors, as has been happening for some years now..

And these "so-called" Hospital Managers can't see the blindingly obvious!!

The Government answer: plough in more money!!!

The obvious answer is more and better care packages, to get people OUT of hospital, to allow A&E to move people through, and into the wards, where neccassary.

Did you know that you have to pay for care in England & Wales, well, you may have done, but in Scotland, it's FREE

OK, we pay 1% extra on income tax, but for free prescriptions, and free home care, I think is value for money.

The upshot is; this has been going on for years, and no government has done jack-squat to fix it...just kick the can down the road...
