Personally I think Care Packages for patients should all be part of the NHS that way, hopefully, it should all be coordinated and would reduce beds being blocked.

It is about time the entire NHS had a total overhaul, none political, centre ordering depot, get rid of silly woke managers and systems, run the NHS as a business not a meal ticket.

Care Packages are very hit and miss, depends on the Local Authority, if your Local Authority is low on funds it tends to be Care Packages that take the hit. On Sky news last night there was a report on a middle aged couple, both of whom were in wheel chairs, they were hardly managing to live in their own home as the local authority, it was up in Scotland, had a deficit and had cut social care. It’s amazing that local authorities always manage to find money for their own pensions and asylum seeker requirements but, other people are left to suffer.

Going back to hospital bed blocking, the majority of patients just want to be released from hospital and return to their own homes, surely there should be more coordination between hospital and local authority to plan the care packages for patients well in advance to avoid a patient blocking a bed, maybe hospitals should get rid of diversity managers and employ managers solely responsible for arranging the discharge of patients needing home care following the discharge from hospital.
