I have lived in Hexham for 25 years The GP service has been exceptional in that time.
The receptionist asks if it is urgent.
On the two occasions I have said yes, I have seen the doctor within one hour of my phone call on both those occasions. I once replied that I didn’t think it was urgent but I had a chest pain. The receptionist said “in that case you should attend that day” and booked me in.
There have been other instances of excellent service, suffice to say it is totally different to when I lived in Jarrow Obviously it is beneficial to live in a town of about 13000 population compared to 40000 nevertheless I am delighted with the service.
