I wonder if they were replaced for another slipway?
However I question the mapmaker. The houses on the Bonaccord side did not have staircases for the upper flats. Well, not judging by the photo of the flooding to lower Ellison St.
The houses on the Leslie’s side did not have staircase out the front from the first floor. They look like porch or passageways to get out to Ellison St. for families living in those houses through the boundary wall.
Looking carefully those houses are inside Leslie’s boundary wall.
You can just see the boundary wall where there is a step in the Roofs of the houses on the Bonaccord side of Ellison St.
Maybe they were for staff that had to be On Site overnight.
Sorry a bit disjointed cannot cut and paste on iPad.
