There's continued attacks in Congo and Rwanda for over 20 years with atrocities on both sides. We knew a Congolese woman whose daughter was killed by Rwandan guerilla they slashed her to death with machetes. It's mainly tribal on both sides and the atrocities often take place at churches and other places of worship because they are centres of communities. They usually herd them into the churches block all entrances and set them alight.
