I had a scam call on my mobile supposed to be from a friend 12 months ago asking me to get her a gift card etc. when I called my friend she said , ignore it, it’s a scam. Here I am 12 months later an email this time from the same friend, apologised as she has laryngitis, so can’t phone me. I immediately replied and sympathised. The reply was can I do her a favour, a gift card for a friend with terminal cancer (wicked People) of course I then realised it was a scam. I rang her and her husband had just had the same email. I can’t believe it. I thought the first email was genuine. I’d never send money or gift cards without checking. They just never give up.
