I can remember Dann`s fish shop approximately where the Hebburn hub is today , us little ones used to call the fish shop “ dirty Dan the fish shop man “ From what l recall they were very good fish n chips also remember it had a wooden counter that had probably had been cleaned and scrubbed every day for years and years that the counter wasn’t flat as such so the grain of the wood was protruding higher than the actual counter
