Red Bull having problems including brakes.
Ferrari also in that Louis Hamilton is struggling with the Brembo brakes on his car.
The brakes work fine it’s just the feel of them being difficult not being able get used to after over 10 years using those used on his Mercedes cars.
I have been aware of these type of problems ever since I statrted mechanic ing on my own cars.
My present 2012 has done over 104,000 miles and on its third set of discs and pads.
When they were last changed the Kia dealer installed non OEM Kia ones.
I was suprised but told that they were good quality replacements.
I have found them excellent, by gum they bit when required.
The difference between those made by various manufacturers op is down to the quality if the materials used the cast the disks and then there is the lining of the brake pads.
It’s all very technical and beyond me but I judge by the feel of the disks and pads under braking, that’s light everyday car use and then when towing the caravan. No fade under heavy braking at all.
The F1 drivers are on the limit for nearly 2 hours and any even very very minor uncertainty with the brakes can loose them thousandth’s of a second a lap or part of a lap.
The brake assemblies on their cars are fantastic bits of kit.
Enough from me, just something a bit different for the board.
