As the King said, when he was Prince of Wales, “ Andrew wanted his job”. Thank goodness he was not the first born. I remember reading a soldier in the Royal Mews telling the tale of what an awful spoiled child he was and was giving the soldiers a lot of hassle. In the end one picked him up and deposited him in a pile of horse manure. He told the soldier he would be in trouble as he was going to tell his Mama. The guy’s colleagues kept saying to him he was now in trouble. He waited to be summoned to his superior, but it never happened. We can only think , perhaps the Queen knew he was a spoilt child.
