Hate to rub it in Allan, but as I have said before, hospital parking is FREE in Scotland, as is town centre parking, unless it's private land...which is a rarity.

We've been here 6 years now, and not paid a single penny for parking, and why SHOULD we?

It's just a nutty stealth tax, that councils/hospitals etc have got away with for years in England/Wales, with NO justification!!!

Can you imagine (I own a dog boarding kennel) if a customer arrived with their dog/cat, and I said "oh, by the way, to park on my property, to drop off your dog/cat, there will be a charge of XX pounds!!!!!"

Same deal in a town? You drive into town to spend money...usually... and get an extra charge for the priviledge.....
