I saw Starmer’s speech on bbc breakfast & was surprised (maybe not) that he never once mentioned the illegals arriving by boat. It was all about making it more difficult for the legal immigrants that we actually need.
My son’s very good friend has worked for Border Force for about 15 years in the immigration dept. He’s now a team leader in investigation/ enforcement & is actively involved in repatriation. He doesn’t talk a lot about his work but has often said he can’t remember the last time his team was involved with someone who arrive d in a dinghy. All his cases have involved people who have arrived legally but then overstayed their visa conditions etc.
