Mac Hardy, I know exactly how you feel, I returned in 2017 to attend a Class reunion, at the airport I was asked by a gentleman somewhat darker than my shoes and with a Sub Continent accent so thick that I said ""I beg your pardon"" three times...""What is the purpose of your visit to the United Kingdom??""...... I looked at him and forced my best Geordie accent (after almost 50 years in Australia) and replied.... ""I was born in this Country, that should be sufficient""... He had to say ""I beg your pardon"" a couple of times before I finally replied with an easier to understand ""Holiday""........He seemed like a very nice person, but with that huge bandage on his head, I don't think he should have been at work, I do hope he recovered !!
