In the 1940s the original Wood St, Elm & Ash St were all gone, replaced by Pre-Fabs.
I remember visiting my aunty in her modern prefab in the late 1940s. She boasted she had a Fridge and gave me an ice lolly she'd made in the ice box. I thought that was Magic because I lived in a old 1800s upstairs Flat
