Sheila, thanks for the info. I am totally shocked! I have seen engines that have ingested large birds, causes the engine to flame out & shut down in most cases. Causes a hell of a mess, but the engines were still rebuilt.
That's why I'm surprised that a bit of paint, obviously sprayed up the exhaust has done enough damage to scrap the engine. I would doubt that much of the paint would have reached the engine, as the jet pipe on those are over six feet long..

Perhaps it was the crow-bars that caused the damage.....
