The 'Ben Lomond Hotel' was built in the late 1800s.Lots of Scottish workers came down to work in our towns inc businessmen. To make them feel at home we added Scottish names to streets.
In our area we had or still have Buchanan St, St Rollox St,Argyle St, Argyle Hotel, Hibernian Rd, Caledonian St, Caledonian Hotel, Clyde St,Bonnacord St,Tweed St. all with Scottish connections George.
