VJ Day

Whilst observing the silence today and thinking of my grandfather who was evacuated from Dunkirk 28.05.1940 as part of the British Expeditionary Force. Later sent to India and the far east until his release from service on 26.01.1946.
Pictured with the ball at his feet is Hebburn lad born and bred - John Edward Nicol W/SGT; Captain of the British Army football team Bombay 1942 - Lest We Forget.
