Met my wife Pat when I was working as a ‘Pop’ boy with the Platers in Hawthorne Leslies, she worked in the time office and passed our work bench every day, when I turned 16 started to serve my apprenticeship and she used to sort out the time cards, my mates quickly started to sing”Lipstick on your time cards” we married in 1962 following my time in the Merchant Navy, have 4 wonderful children and 8 great grandchildren, sadly she passed away on Friday, 13th December last year, miss her so very much, a wonderful wife and mother!
