Many thanks Norman fo putting the photo up - such lovely memories - especially about Charley’s sculler-boat - most Saturdays when I was around 8 years old I made my way from Derby Crescent to Charley’s sculler - ( little scared going down those wet wooden steps where he helped me into he boat, and he rowed me across the Tyne to Walker(where I then had a little walk to the swimming pool (forgotten it’s name - goes with the territory!) butI returned to Hebburn on the Ferry, and my walk back to my home in Derby Cres. - I really look forward to any news about and around my time of Hebburn,I’m so grateful to you for supplying it,long may you continue!
