Recent, by definition, refers to a time not long ago, close to the present.
The research I did before posting the image suggests that the pen and ink is not "recent" and goes back into the 1700's, perhaps earlier, and is what the local artist John Storey (1828-1888) used as the basis for one of his works.
There are lots of similar images of early Newcastle to be found online. Some with provenance others not.
