Two more great examples of our stupidity was when Hitachi the Japanese Company came to Aycliffe to build trains & create work for us. Then we bought our Metro Trains from SPAIN.
Another example is we gave the Passport Contract to France who then sub contracted it to Poland. That meant the Delarue Factory in Gateshead lost that work which put British people out of work .
