Daft Parking in Newcastle

So my wife decided on a trip to Newcastle, and the surrounding area, to catch up with an old work-mate.

On one day, they drove into Newcastle, and parked in the "Newcastle Queens Lane 1 NCP car park.

Approaching the pay machine, NO cash or card, you need their APP, so both tried to download the APP (reception was...) FINALY the APP was down loaded..but all spaces have to be pre-booked!

So you can't book in for another half hour..DUH!

So after 13 minutes of messing about, and NOT being able to book a space, they left.

Guess what?

Today, she received a FINE for not paying for parking, which she was UNABLE to do, due to their STUPID system.......

Are the NCP/Newcastle Council trying to stop tourists from parking, by making it almost impossible to do so...

Needless to say, she is appealing the £100 fine, as the CCTV will show, they spent 13 minutes at the pay machine, trying to pay, and then gave up, and left!!!!
