I am pretty certain that the Boldon Co-op building in Bill Quay was commissioned by and built for that Society in 1891 and extended in 1901.
It is so sad to have witnessed the visual decline of the premises as it was "broken up" into low quality units over the years into something that to me looks awful.
The decline of our high streets is not a thing of joy.
