Re: Proud to be a Geordie

Thanks Norman! The Baltic was one of my proudest jobs when I managed the enabling works ready for conversion in 2000. It wasn't a mill but 52 concrete silos for storing the flour which we had to take out and leave the walls standing. Tricky but good old geordie labour of Edmund Nuttall and local Gordon O Brien of Boldon made it possible. Funny, but on the night of the opening a bloke standing next to me asked me what I thought of it. I calmly said " Total waste of money"! I then asked him," Who are you", only to get a sharp reply " Lord Mayor of Gateshead"!!! What a goof !
