Although most advent calendars finish on the 24th I I thought let's have one more for the day itself. So I've picked three of the oldest carols that are still sang in the UK or certainly parts of it. The first goes back to the 12th century and this is Alison Krauss with YoYo Ma and this is the Welford Carol:

?si=OTcQVfAwWEm84pog Finally back to the 12th century the its text first appeared in Latin it went through a number of melodies but really gained popularity in this country when Gustav Holst wrote a new score for it, this is Personent Hodie
