As an aside, 30 years ago I met a relation of Nicholas Fairless the Magistrate in a meditation class in London. His first name was Fairless, passed down the family.
He mentioned the story and his connection when I told him where I was from. ( The accent might’ve given it away ).Then it was very funny when I told him that my mother’s maiden name was Jobling!
I’ve been working on my family tree for 25 years now and not actually found a link, although I’ve tried!
