When Jimmy Guy (verger) and I did extensive research on the building, we discovered a lot! We could not get to the 3 vaults below the floor as it would have taken an exhumation order. However they were discovered by GPR (ground penetrating radar). Every stone has been studied as to its scource and even the quarry. There was a Roman look out tower at the top of Church Bank so like all good monks used much of it to build the church! I have taken levels but remain baffled why 3 "people" are buried 9" under the altar step and why Mr and Mrs Drewett are buied behind the church and not in the yard... so many unexplained things and more, like the tower not being keyed into the structure...
