A WW2 bombing raid. (Then & now photos)

As I say on the older 1960s photo, that arched bridge on River Drive looked like the Tyne Bridge during WW2 blackouts so the Luftwaffe tried bombing it. The 2nd photo from Google Earth shows the little shipyard is long gone & housing built on the site.
