Nothing to do with Hebburn. My partner's 2nd great-grandfather was born in Lowestoft 1829 and married in 1850 St Hilda's Church, South Shields. Apparently at the time there was a big following of LDS's here then. Well the 2nd great-grandfather converted to the LDS's and was baptised in the River Tyne at Fish Quay Sands, North Shields. I don't think I would of liked being dipped in the river.
