It's always interesting when this photo comes up, as I think it is the only one in existence showing the aviary!

It reminds me of other vanished Hebburn landmarks that we have no photos of, like the Tudor Shoppe on Victoria Road West and the illuminated map outside the old Co-Op Chemist on Hall Road. Lots of people remember them, but no photos.
