The Catherine House was an old pub that used to be on the corner of Catherine Street and Woodbine Street, South Shields and was known locally as "The Monkey Bar". It was built in 1840 as the Rope Makers Arms and became the Catherine House in 1901. It was demolished in 1963. Photographer was Frank & Sons, South Shields.
