I have have had the support of friends of Hebburn Cemetery for a couple of years as I found a baby brother buried there and had a stone finally put on... all from NZ with a couple of visits. The person who helped me without me even asking was John Stewart, he did so much for me, checking with stone mason, sending me pictures, getting babies grave ready for me before my visit, and I’ve just received a recent pic from him to show me “wee Ralph all ready for the summer”. I finally met him on a visit last year. What a kind person, as is the whole of the group. I have also just found out he is standing as an Independent Councillor in Hebburn at next elections. If the way John Stewart treated me and my emotional well being over the past couple of years is indicative of his compassion and committment to the people of Hebburn, if I lived there he would get my vote. I have no agenda to put his name out there, just thought you might be interested being Hebburn folk, he is always at Cemetery Sat and Sun morning if you wanted to meet him. He has a place in my heart now for ever. |
