Hello folks, |
While in Norfolk, a few days ago, my wife and I visited Caister Castle. In the grounds is a purpose-built indoor motor museum, which claims to hold, ‘Probably the largest and certainly the best privately-owned motor collection open to the public in the UK.’
The collection is complemented by a display of bicycles, horse-drawn vehicles, pedal cars and other related items.
The people running the museum - some in their 80s - are very knowledgeable about its contents and ready to answer any questions. My wife and I are nowhere near as familiar with automobiles as some clever folk on the message board, but, nevertheless, it was wonderful seeing such a huge selection of vehicles - some from the 1970s - and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
As we passed one of the gentlemen, he said hello, so I said to him that the museum must bring back so many memories for so many people; he looked up and down the very long walkway and said, ‘Yes, we call this memory lane’.
